Ponmudi

Ponmudi (The Golden Peak) is a hillstation in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala in South India. Its located 61 km north-east of Trivandrum city at an altitude of 610 m. It is a part of the Western Ghats mountain range that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea. Ponmudi is connected to Trivandrum by a narrow winding road which offers a scenic view on the way to Ponmudi. The climate is always pleasant and it serves as a base for trekking and hiking. The tea-gardens here are also famous.
Other attractions near Ponmudi include Golden Valley and a number of rivulets and rapids, some even across the road. Located in a rich forest area, this whole place may be of interest to those who are interested in tropical vegetation. There is also a rich wildlife around these hills. Golden Valley is a sneak-peak offered to the beauty of the hills. It is an access-point to the river Kallar. Well-rounded pebbles, lush green trees, the cool water, fishes and the sheer wilderness of the park enthralls the visitor.
Another attraction in the region is Agasthyarkoodam which is one of the highest peak in the Western Ghats and the highest peak (1868 m) in the district. This peak is famous for its wilderness, and can be accessed only with permission from the Forest Department. Meenmutty Falls is also a famous attraction in the range.

Wagamon

Wagamon is a hill top resort near Palai,in Idukki District,Kerala,India.the area is famous for its cool climate. Temperature between 10 and 23 degree Celsius. It is situated 1,100 metres above sea level. Kurisumala monastery is situated there. It is around 33 km from Palai.The area is full of Tea estates. Indo-Swiss Project dairy farms is situated in Kurisumala. Wagamon is surrounded by three hills namely, Thangal hill, Murugan hill and Kurisumala. Tea estates, grass lands, meadows, mist and shola forests add to the charm of Wagamon environment. Wagamon is at the fringe of the western ghats and the foot hills on its lower side reach up to Teekoy with a gradual descent. Travelling by the hill highway in this section is an exhilarating experience with deep valleys and magnificent views all around. Wagamon presents very spectacular views with an ethereal touch.

Thekkady

Thekkady (Idukki District) is the location of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is an important tourist attraction in Kerala state, India, close to the Kerala -Tamil Nadu border town Kumily, located about 257 km (160 miles) from Trivandrum. The sanctuary is famous for its dense evergreen, semievergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grass lands. It is home to herds of elephants, sambar, tigers, gaur, lion-tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.
Thekkady has immense possibilities for Adventure Tourism. The Forest Department offers many programs including Periyar Tiger Trail, Nature walk, Bamboo Rafting etc. There are private organizations as well as government agencies (e.g.KTDC), who promote adventure tourism in Thekkady. Plantation tourism also is promoted by these agencies, so that the tourists can see and learn the cultivation of various spices of Kerala.

Kuttikkanam

Kuttikkanam, the land of lush green tea plantations, lofty peaks and gushing streams, lies in the Peermade village of Idukki district, 3500 feet above the sea level. Clouds gently touch the peaks that flank the verdant slops of Kuttikkanam. Indeed, the streams silvering down from the top hill peaks will fill your hearts with warm feelings.
The valleys and hills of Kuttikkanam are draped in mist all through the year. On a fairly warm day the mercury reads around 15°C.The beauty of Kuttikkanam is a 'JOY FOR EVER': We can see the sunset and the sea as we tune our ears to the symphony of the winged choristers!

Moonnar

Moonnar is a town located in the southern state of Kerala in India. The name is most often used to refer to the whole tourist area, of which the town forms a part. The etymology of Muannar is believed to be derived from the Malayalam words Muunu (three) and aaru (river), referring to the town's strategic location at the confluence of the mountain streams of Muthirappuzha, Chanduvarai and Kundala. Situated at nearly 1,600 to 1,800 meters above sea level, the region is surrounded by vast jungles and remains wet and cold during most of the year. Nearby is the Mattupetty Dam. Coordinates: 10°09'N, 77°06'E The people of Munnar share in the culture and traditions of Kerala. Tamil immigrants from the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu also figure significantly in the population.

Nelliyampathy

The Nelliyampathy hills, just 75 km from Palakkad, are situated at a height of around 467 meters with the highest peak, Padagiri, at 1572 meters. These hills comprise a chain of ridges cut off by valleys of dense, evergreen forests and orange plantations. To reach this hill station one has to negotiate over a dozen hairpin bends on the Ghat road passing through the jungles of the Sahyadri Ranges. En route is an ideal stopover at the Pothundi Reservoir with its manicured surroundings, about 17 kms from Palghat.

Peerumedu

On the way to Thekkady, Peerumedu is a small hill station. It is a fertile land at an altitude of 914 meters. Formerly the summer palaces of Travancore Rajas this tiny and cool hill station is full of rubber, tea, coffee, pepper and cardamom plantations. Surrounded by rolling hills and valleys, Peerumedu is well known for its waterfalls, open grasslands and delightful trekking trails. Peeremedu and its surroundings are suitable for trekking, cycling and horse riding. Kuttikanam a place for adventure tourism and trekking is just 3 km from Peeremedu. Another attraction here is Thrissanku Hills four km away. The rolling hills, the lovely landscape and the gentle breeze make this a choice spot for long walks. Devikulam

Devikulam, a dainty town, sixteen kilometers southwest of Munnar consist of irresistibly green slopes touching the sky at a thousand metres and its silent clusters of slender red and blue gum trees. It has a lovely little lake hidden within the rolling hills. The idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air offers a rare experience to visitors. The Sita Devi Lake is an ideal place for trout fishing. According to a legend, Sita Devi, the holy consort of Lord Rama, came down to frolic in the lake and the place came to be spoken about as 'Devikulam'(meaning the lake of the goddess), ever since. Vythiri

Vythiri is one of the most beautiful hill stations of Kerala located at about 100 km from Kozhikode about 1300 m above the sea level. The place is famous for its lush green sprawling plantation of coffee, tea, cardamom, pepper and rubber.
